Quite often I work with dogs on a weekly basis, teaching them to walk nicely on a leash, to pass people and dogs calmly, to wait politely in the car before jumping out and to develop nice manners.
But as soon as class is over, the dogs seem to forget what they did and they charge back out the door, run up to all the other dogs or jump on people and launch into the car.
So I began to think, what if we could continue these lessons OUT of class, making it more real?
Well that is exactly what I have done.
I have started new free sessions that encompass loose leash walking, car manners, impulse control around other dogs and people, calmness and focus in a new environment. This is all carried out at the You Yangs just out of Melbourne.
We offer a variety of walks from shorter 60 minute walks at Big Rock to more vigorous 90 minute walks around the east/west loop.
Owners get to enjoy a more leisurely walk with coaching along the way as we deal with distractions, people jogging, cyclists, children, other dog walkers and even some wildlife!
Walks will be held on weekdays and occasional weekends and will run during the cooler months of the year.
For more information on this, please subscribe to the newsletter so you can be updated on upcoming walk, dates, times, meeting places, etc. and keep an eye out on Facebook as I often pop invitations on there at short notice.
Look forward to seeing you on a walk with a difference!
