Have you ever looked at your dog and thought, “I wish I could teach you that” or said, “I don’t know what to do” when you see your dog misbehaving. Or even thought to yourself, “he knows this but why does he not listen to me?”
Well this might be your solution. I have written and published a book to help you out!
What Can You Teach Me? – A step by step guide to basic dog training using Positive Reinforcement
It will teach you a variety of practical and vital skills, tell you what each skill means, how to teach it, when to use it and even what you tools you need to do it.
All the exercises are built up from easiest to hardest and challenges are laid out for those dogs that find training super easy.
All the skills are taught using force free methods so it will be fun for both you and your dog.
I cover exercises from focus, to mat training, to stay, come when called, to loose leash walking and even handling and veterinary examinations. Everything you need to start your pup or dog out.
Whether you are training your new puppy, working with a teenage dog that needs further learning, working with an older dog that needs fine tuning or are working on building a relationship with a fostered dog, this book will guide you all the way.
Clients who have booked into my puppy classes or my dog classes might find this book to be a good reference point between lessons or even before the course has started and it gives them a little insight into my training methods.
This book by no means is a replacement for dog training group classes. Classes are still essential as they help the dog learn to cope with real life distractions under the guidance of a qualified positive trainer. This book is designed to fill in the gaps and refresh the skills taught once classes are over, assist those with dogs that have poor social issues by creating a foundation in their learning skills and help dogs familiarise themselves with what they would learn in a group class setting.
The book has 88 pages of glossy, real life images showing you each step for each skill and we have even embedded QR codes in each skill so that the owners with devices can scan them and watch them in video format.
The book is very user friendly and each skill is colour coded so you can find your way around it easily.
This book comes in both a paperback version as well as a fully downloadable EBook and for those that would like to have both, there is a discounted package available.
I will keep you posted as I will be publishing my second book in 2016, which will focus on common behavioural problems including their solutions.
Enjoy the book!
