I emigrated from Italy and have been living in Australia for almost 6 years now.
Since I was 3-4 years of age, I remember that one of my interests was to talk to animals, especially pets like dogs, cats, birds and rabbits. I used to like making up conversations with them and telling them stories and I also used to rescue a lot of them.
Growing up, I realised that a dog or cat would never be able to speak to me but I didn’t give up on my dream to try to communicate with them and better understand they way they speak to us. I have always considered a lot, especially the psychological support that a dog can give to its owner but as a young adult, I also started to see how many dogs suffered through lack of communication or miscommunication between the dog and their owner.
I then realised that the best way to help the misunderstood dogs was to teach their owners what to train, when to train and how to train and to listen to their dogs.
What I love most about the positive reinforcement training method is that it helps strengthen the bond between the dog and their owner and it is super fun also.
I am now a fully qualified Delta Trainer after two years of intensive training. Throughout my studies I was very lucky to have been mentored by Chiara and she gave me the opportunity to assist in both puppy and adult classes as well as private consultations and private training lessons.
Since January 2020, I joined the Point Cook Dog Training team and am now one of their trainers, taking on all classes as well as working as a mindDog trainer for Victoria.
Here I am am with my American Stafford Rudy, who supported me throughout my studies as he helped me with all my practical assignments and he loved it!
