The Point Cook Dog Training & Dare Care (‘PCDT’) terms and conditions are listed below. These apply to all day care bookings with us.
- PCDT reserves the right to refuse admission to any dog for any reason
- Bookings are always required
- All dogs must successfully pass our temperament evaluation before being admitted into day care
- Day care dogs must be sociable towards other dogs and humans
- Dogs must enter and exit the venue on a leash
- We do not allow dogs to enter on a choker chain, prong collar or electric shock collar nor will we use any of these walking tools
- Dogs must be 3 months and over to attend day care
- Sick dogs will not be admitted to day care
- Dogs must be in good health, free from any infectious diseases, regularly treated for gastrointestinal worms and be free from fleas
- Dogs must be fully vaccinated or have a current positive titre test. The minimum vaccination requirements for each dog entering the premises is a C3 (Canine Distemper, Hepatitis and Parvovirus). A C5 is recommended as it also covers Canine Cough (Parainfluenza and Bordetella)
- We do not accept unvaccinated dogs
- If we consider your dog to be unwell, requiring veterinary attention, we will attempt to contact you. If we cannot reach you and attention is urgent, we will take your dog to our nominated vet clinic which is Direct Vet Services in Point Cook. Owners are liable for all costs incurred
- If your dog is on medication, we can continue to administer them during their day care stay at no extra charge. Medications must be clearly labelled and have an instruction sheet including dosage and administering details
- PCDT requests that the responsible owner must be available to collect the dog at all times or have an emergency contact that can do this
- PCDT will attempt to maintain animal safety at all times but shall not accept any responsibility for the damage caused by or to the animal
- All day care sessions must be fully paid for on arrival or at pick up
- We do feed dogs premium food and treats over the day. If your dog is on a special diet and cannot have other foods, we must be notified
- Changes of any relevant details including ownership of the dog must be notified in writing
- All dogs are cared for in accordance with the Government of Victoria Code of Practice
- PCDT and its staff will be indemnified by the dog owner against any actions or claims arising from any loss, injury or Canine Cough that a dog sustains or causes to another dog or person while in the care of PCDT day care
- All paperwork, forms and certificates (for both vaccination status and desexing) must be completed before being admitted to day care
- Day care is open Wednesday and Thursday from 7am-6pm. A late fee of $25 will be charged if the dog is not collected within these hours
- We will not allow dogs to attend more than twice a week with a day break in between as we believe the dog has a right to rest as well as be comfortable being at home alone
- If you do not accept the way we assess dogs in our centre, please understand we will not allow you to then attend our facility. There are plenty of other day care centres in Melbourne that will take you in!
- We will not tolerate bullying or aggressive behaviour from handlers at any point and we will deny entry to our facility if any of the staff are treated like this
- Dogs cannot be left to spend the night as we are not a boarding facility and we do not have a boarding permit. Your emergency contact will be called to collect your dog
- We will not accept dogs that go to different day care centres in the same period i.e. they go to another day care centre on one day and come to us on another
- If dogs have not been to day care for more than two months, an assessment will need to be done prior to booking in
- The terms and conditions are in additions to our assessments, all of which are subject to change without notice.
